Human Hypocrisy

We have failed

I have failed

You say you are righteous

You claim to be gifted

You say you want to change the world

A man asks for food, for change, or for just a measly cigarette

You say you have nothing

I say I have nothing

Yet we both know that there is something we could do

There is a way to help

But we both ignore our guts

Hypocrisy is not learned or taught

Hypocrisy is human

Do not run or hide from the mistakes and passed opportunities

Embrace them as part of you

Compile them into a guide for a more righteous future

Yet as these words appear and each letter is pushed down on this keyboard

I am a hypocrite

Before I utter any more words of slander and speak from a poisoned mouth

I must cease to describe how anyone should live their life
